The Vancouver Airport Fuel Facilities Corporation, a founding member of FRIA, is constructing a new fuel delivery system to supply the Vancouver International Airport with aviation fuel for the future. The project supports the growing demands of the flying public, which keeps many thousands of people employed in the aviation industry.

In early 2016, VAFFC obtained its first construction permit for early earthworks in connection with the Fuel Receiving Facility located on Port of Vancouver land. This extraordinary undertaking will take up to one year to complete and involves extensive soil excavation and ground improvements to provide the future facility with a post-disaster seismic capacity similar to other critical infrastructure at the Vancouver International Airport.
